Was Alastair in the newsroom for the news flash earlier? Mark has said the News at 6.30pm will be on as usual, so I guess Alastair/Mary might take over then.

Alastair presented the newsflash from the studio.

I really wouldn't be surprised if one of them has been whisked off to Downing Street.

I'd have thought one of them would have been whisked in that direction already, though Mark showing now how actually anchoring it from the studio is just as effective, especially as the action is going on at various location.

Yeah there listed to anyway - god it's going from one person to another , doing quite a good job.

Plus the Local news at 6:50 has now disappeared! Laughing

...and they're both at Westminster!

They've just run the titles again at 6:30, so did STV/UTV/Channel not necessarily take the 'newsflash' first 30 minutes?

STV took it - announced as a 'special news report' if I recall.

Seems a strange way to do it - they might as well have kept Alastair in the studio and have the whole hour hosted by him in the studio and Mary at Westminster.

James mates must be tired, if gmtv workers start at 3/4, James most probably will have done to, meaning he will work 20 hours( till 11). He is most likeley to be there at ten.

He probably would have started a bit later than 3 or 4am, more likely 5am.

I think it was all bit of a rush to be honest - as I noticed that Mark's earpiece wire was outside his jacket, with a bit of tape to ( like it sometimes is on location) rather hidden underneath - although on the photo above it seems to have disappeared!! Laughing mabye they realised!

There wasn't any local ITV news tonight in the end was there - or did i miss it? Very Happy
