Other than pointing at a well-known house, what exactly can this add? I'd much rather see them out and about in the key constituencies that matter than a currently un-occupied house. The chances are we won't even know who will be the full-time resident come Friday morning, unless the Tories manage the unlikely.

"ITV will bring you the latest news and views from around the UK on election night on air and online.
An expert team will be on hand on ITV1 throughout the night to produce fast and accurate results alongside insightful analysis to guide viewers through every Election Night development.
While Alastair Stewart anchors the programme from 9.55pm until 6am, Julie Etchingham will join him in a bespoke virtual studio to drive the technology that will provide viewers with the truest picture of the election unfolding.
ITV News will push the boundaries of Election Night graphics to tell the story of the night. An all-new version of the swingometer, a 3D House of Commons, and a unique DNA fingerprint of Britain will all help to make rapidly changing information easy to understand.
Tom Bradby will join Alastair and Julie in the studio alongside exclusive guests including party heavyweights Ann Widdecombe, John Reid and Paddy Ashdown, as well as Professor Colin Rallings – the UK's most respected election analyst – to add insight and commentary.
The team in the studio will link throughout the night to Mary Nightingale who will be hosting the ITV Election Night Party overlooking Parliament. Mary will be getting reaction from a-list party guests from the spheres of politics, business, arts and media, as well as members of the public that have come to prominence throughout the campaign.
The programme will be streamed live on the ITV website alongside an interactive online discussion with viewers able to add their views via our live chat tool or log in to comment using their Facebook profile.
We'll have our own polls and comments and analysis from correspondents all over the UK plus a live interactive map showing which of the parties has grabbed seats as the results are announced."

Shame we only got two bongs though because ITV insist on sticking in that one extra promo before the start of the news!!
Nice start to News at Ten with the live bongs of Big Ben!

although even if they did go on at exactly 10 - I don't think they would have wanted to play all the however many bongs there are!

I'm glad ITV don't feel the need to have a stupidly huge studio full of many different areas just for one night like the BBC have done. I really don't see the point. Ok the BBC one looks good, but Why?! ITV's looks perfect, you can do everything and anything needed with green screen.

The atrium is not being used this time round.
I've no complaints about the BBC's effort, or that ITV do things differently - though it'll be a shame if the atrium remains completely unused - usually they do news reports from down there, but no one is mentioned in that role this time (it was Mary in 2001/2005).

That's a shame. I like the atrium, and I just think that it'll feel a bit trapped, stuck in a CSO studio all night. I really like the BBC/Sky presentation style, lots of different presentation areas etc.

Bit of a mistake on the ITV news on the website. Was this full mistake broadcast or is it only on the web feed?
