Not sure about ITV in general, but ITV News at least doesn't - they say "on ITV1 and HD" for every programme now - even upscaled. The way you can tell the difference between upscaled and native shows it doen't have the ITV1HD dog on upscaled shows.
I haven't got a source but I'm sure I read somewhere that the BBC wasn't going to have the VR stuff at Grays Inn Road this year.
Edit: Found something
Does anyone know if ITN has the capability to broadcast native HD? The Election promo is saying "on ITV1 and HD".

With ITV doing it all in one studio, do we know yet then if the BBC will be in the other virtual studio as they have been in recent years?

The virtual reality operation will move into Studio One at the end of April. The main set incorporates large LED screens and LC screens. The BBC News at Ten will transmit from Studio One on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday preceding Election Night and then coverage will start on the night itself at 21.55 and run continuously for just over 20 hours through to Friday at 18.00, with the BBC News at Ten, Breakfast News and BBC News at One all being delivered from the studio as well.

I have read in the TV Mags that the election night coverage from Julie 'Will push the boundaries of election night graphics'. I am exctied to see what this will entail.
I am yet undecided about the election studio. From the promo, it looks small, dark and mis-match. the desk is nice although I think it might be too different to the current desk - not that that's an issue really.
Just 4 more days to go! Any news on whether a remixed theme will be used?

From a few pages back:
Thank you. Could I tempt you to answer another query: is it the music used for 2001 and 2005 or a new composition?
I believe it's going to be a new composition.
in the style of the ITV News 09 music but not the same.

Dave Hewson is providing the music for ITV's election night programme.

[...] as Michael W says, the new version is supposed to have hints of the ITV News 2009 theme. I guess given the "brand realignment" they want to align the election programme more to ITV News bulletins than anything else.

The BBC only use ITN VR facilities at Grays Inn Road for smaller election shows (Local and European) that ITV no longer cover - they've never been there for a General Election, when they'd presumably be a bit busy doing ITV and C4 shows?

BBC have never been at ITN for a General Election - and I don't see that changing. They only really started using ITN facilities when they started downsizing their local and european election shows (no longer using a specially-hired main block TVC studio), and ITV stopped them pretty much entirely (meaning they had capacity available)

oh ok, just though all of them were done from Grays Inn - obviosuly not! sorry for the confusion.
Also was just watching some clips of previous election's coverage - I didn't relise Mark was invovled in the 2005 one - you'd think he would be this time then!

Also found the other tralier there've been showing during the actual bulletins to promote it.

IIRC there are about three election trails that they are using in ITV News bulletins: the first featuring Alastair, Julie and Mary speaking to camera; the second is the one posted above; and the third is a montage of clips from previous ITN election programmes with Alastair saying something like, "For over 50 years, we've been there on election night" at the start of the trail, followed by a lengthy snippet of the election night theme - which sounds very nice indeed - then ending with "Join us live from five to ten on May 6, here on ITV1".

yeah I've seen that "For over 50 years..." one - but only once - they seem to be using the others more.
Also although he isn't listed as being part of the ITV coverage, saw on twitter that Jonathan Dimbleby will be invovled - not sure how though!
Also once again, although Mark isn't listed to be part of the election night - I wonder if he will be? Only watching some of the 2005 election coverage on TV ark - It seems he was ( i didn't think he was), at the election night party with Katie at the London Eye.
