Oopsee..

haha!! Laughing

also just thought - it's nearly May, and the relaunch was in November - nearly 6 months and the thread's still called ITV News "Brand realignment". Isn't it time it changed? Very Happy

That's nowt. It's been one and a half years, but the Five thread is still titled "New look Five".

fair enough - but was just making the point that it isn't really a "Brand realignment" still - it's been like it for 6 months! Very Happy

Has Katie left ITV News already? She was supposed to present at 1.30 last Thursday and Friday, as well as Monday and Tuesday of this week - but has not appeared at all.
Maybe I'm reading too much into that, but if she has left without a mention from anyone, then that would be a shame.

If I recall correctly, what I said was...

I'm sure Katie will be thanked on-air; to not do so would be unforgivable and ITN usually get it right when it comes to things like that. (I still can't believe that ITV News have ****** up so royally as to let Katie get away.)

On Radio 4 they mentioned that Katie was moving across to the BBC in June.
This week she's presenting the afternoon programmes on Radio 3 (and doing so rather well, in my opinion), so the lunchtime news entry in the Freeview EPG is wrong (again), but I hope to see her back reading the news next week.

As someone else pointed out, Katie is due to present the ITV News programme on the morning after the election.

I wonder why ITV hasn't allowed News at Ten to run for one hour tonight, seeing as they did so for the second election debate.

Also the removal of "...and I'll be back later in the programme - but now, to James in the studio" is getting a bit annoying. Why did they stop doing this? It gets a bit weird seeing them flit from reporter to newscaster to newscaster without so much as a brief mention.

I'm not liking that either - touches like that make the whole thing flow much better.

ITV News website currently showing the 'New Site Coming Soon' page with Mark and Julie. Wink

Edit: At time of writing it's been fixed. That's happened a lot lately though.

The hour included 25mins of debate highlights, no doubt because it wasn't being shown on a terrestrial channel. With it on BBC1 tonight, there'd be no point doing the same.

Why wasn't alastair credited in the 6:30 news?

Also, on a ratings point it only got something like 1.5m(ish) viewers, compared to 2 million plus for a normal NAT - so mabye that was part of the reason.

Why wasn't alastair credited in the 6:30 news?

I suppose it was because he wasn't technically "anchoring" it - more of a reporter , as he wasn't shown in the headlines but later on.

Just seen a promo for the election night live - set looks nice - new desk it seems to, studio looks quite different!
