The obvious choice is Nina but I'm not convinced she'll want to do it full time. I imagine she'll accept either ITV News or London Tonight rather than both- lets remember she lives in Nottingham and has a young child. She only seems to work on a part time basis at the minute when she could probably have more work.
Katie would be wasted on the news channel but there isn't really anywhere else she can fit in at the minute. BBC News is overstaffed as it is.
A huge shame, but really considering how often she's been overlooked for the top jobs it's a wonder she stuck it so long. A waste though if she's just stuck on the news channel - she'd be good as a regular Breakfast stand in for example.
I imagine Nina Hossain will be celebrating and no really need to bring anyone new in IMO (for ITV News at least) - just make better use of what they've got - and develop the potential newsreaders of tomorrow on the lower profile bulletins.
