Oh - not a fan of the 'Coming up' music (the drum bit at the start). I do think the studio is looking impressive though!
It did sound a bit like the end of a joke "bu bum tish!" which was unfortunate given the previous story. Really don't like the OTT human interest slant in tonight's bulletin, hope that gets toned down.
As to the graphics, I'd agree with various comments already made - the captions are far too big, the voiceover (although very welcome) is quite quiet and subdued. Nice to see the "newscaster" reference, especially given ITV1 continuity's slap dash approach to introducing the person.
The titles look nice but C4 achieves the effect better, and without the feeling you're being slung from side to side. They are at least less busy, use video and hold on the clips for longer. Why can't the Big Ben image show the proper time?! And it does make you wonder how long they'll keep it before just using a short version of the generic ones ("we'll leave you with some of the images making the news" gimmick anyone?)
The set isn't bad but quite dark. I'm not a big fan of VR which is why I liked it so much when they swapped it for the atrium and skyline. A bit of reality and a bit of depth. Don't mind the music though, nice it retains elements of the original.
Definitely better than the previous look but a shame it had to be at the sacrifice of News at Ten's superb set/graphics/titles.
