Yes it's a dimlit pic but first thought that came to mind.

I personally think it's a good look, but I do not like the desk, it the desk top ends as the base ends, instead of it continuing out as soon as the base ends, if it makes sense, probably not! And the astons, a bit too big, but very good overall, interesting to see the ten.

Reminds me of something...

I am liking the different wipe they used on news at 6:30... a bit strange having the presenter so close with the other presenter in the background...

It kind of felt like she was telling us something Alistair wasn't allowed to know...

I like the music and the look.

I'm pleased that the voiceover is back, but as others have noted the style is rather downbeat and funereal.

My complaint is with the irritating 'human interest'-led news agenda they are foisting on us.

After seeing the new set on screen it looks very good.

I really liked the start there with Mary at the front, Alistair and the rest of the studio shown behind her.

Not a fan of the desk, simply because it looks so fake. I'm not really sure why they've gone for CSO, except for the cost (but considering all the costs of the revamp, surely half a desk isn't that expensive?!) and the option to change it if they don't like it.

I like the shot behind Mary, not too keen on the one behind Alistair. Also it would be nicer if there was some sort of movement on the set behind them.

I'm liking the colours and I have to say the music and opening titles have grown on me hugely since I woke up this morning. Looks better on TV.

The last set was very basic and subtle, imo, which worked incredibly well on NaT. I liked the previous set for the LN and EN but prefer the new setup for those, however I'm not sure the current set, music and graphics will be able to match NaT's previous ones. If they weren't so brand-picky I'd say use the new look for LN and EN and keep the old NaT studio, but obviously that's not going to happen.

The screens in which to show images, interviews etc. are much better than the previous ones, which just seemed to pop out of nowhere.

That made me smile! Very Happy

Oh - not a fan of the 'Coming up' music (the drum bit at the start). I do think the studio is looking impressive though!

Love the retro feel of it - nice to see some real change with a revamp, rather than tweaking the edges. Only two things I'm not sure on is the astons and the intro voiceover - should be much snappier IMO. (Note at Lunchtime they just introduced it as ITV News, not ITV News at 1.30). Also would it be too much to ask that the brief shots of Big Ben in the titles show the relevant time?

Love the touch of reintroducing the newscaster term too, and also feel this shows some commitment from ITV to continuing to provide a news service for a few years yet. Content wise it felt very much more about the news too, with gimmicks kept to a minimum.

The set doesn't look bad, but it does look fake . It's a shame the desk and platform aren't real - that would go a long way to help it feel more realistic and surely wouldn't break the bank. It's quite noticeable on the close-up shots.

I don't think it matters at all. If it was a "real set" with pretty much the same design, but painted onto a set, it wouldn't benefit the broadcast at all - and look a lot worse. Only tweak I'd make is in the wideshots perhaps have the newsroom or skyline in the background on the far right.

Only real complaints are it looks like News at Ten branding will be dropped completely (this look could easily be doctored to use the News at Ten logo on the titles and astons), and such a shame it hasn't yet extended to the regional news. Hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later, but I guess it'll be New Year as the earliest.

The single presenter shots are very tight - these close-ups seem to be in fashion at the moment (cf Sky News)

The desk is NOT FAKE. Just the yellow squares on the front which are fake.

The desk along with the platform are real .

The only thing I am not keen on is the announcer's down beat voice and lack of music over it. The announcer should have been over the main titles.
