Ah, so that's what it was! I thought the News at 1:30 looked very odd. There was a heck of a lot more green on both the desk and James Mates' face. The reflection in the glass of the desk was also not quite - everything was reflected apart from the backdrop, which made it look like they cut the glass out of the desk and forgot to put it back. Minor graphics slip-up at the coming up bit as well.

Steve Scott has been appointed as the new Sports Editor for ITV News; Natalie Pirks will remain sports reporter.

Scott confirmed as ITV News sports editor

Going back to the days of Graham Miller etc.

EDIT - Budget coverage in less than two weeks, and the info for the ITN coverage can be found on the Radio Times website. The same set-up as last year, "The Chancellor's Budget - An ITV News Special" presented by both Alastair and Katie and running from 12:15 to 2:00.

I seriously doubt it. Sports Editor is a full time posting, especially regarding certain weekday evenings and weekends.

I wonder if Richard Bath would make an appearance back on ITV...

No bongs in the headline sequence on the late news at 23:35, apart from the one chime just after the voiceover. I thought it worked quite well (seeing as Big Ben doesnt chime on the half-hour, contrary to ITV News thinking...) but it might not have been intended - there was no sting, just a second wide shot of the studio. No ITN endcap at the end either, just a fade to black.

Tuned in just to see the wide shot with no sting and earlier the ITV News logo in the headline sequence was different as there was no black text underneath the main ITV section
