Yes it was nice to see a brief mention of Julie Etchingham's much-deserved RTS award at the end of tonight's programme.

There have been many more references to "News at Ten" rather than "ITV News at Ten" lately, especially this week on ITV news programmes themselves. It would be nice if they could doctor the ITV News logo to incorporate "at Ten", setting it apart from the other programmes but keeping it closely 'aligned'. For example -

@gottago: Many, many thanks for that link. Though I've not managed to get through all of the video so far, it's totally interesting to view and, from a presentation point of view, it's great to see the Election 2010 studio. Looks very nice indeed.

Yeah this week , they do seemed to be calling it News at Ten a lot more rather than the forced ITV News at Ten.
Like the images - whilst still keeping near enough with the same "brand" it just adds a bit of uniqueness for their flagship bulletin.

yeah, thanks a lot gottago , really intresting to both hear about politics side of things and having a sneek peek at the election studio. Although it's a little difficult to tell from the video, I think from what I can see it's quite nice.

Also, you proberly won't know the answer - but was the bit where Alastair was outside Number 10 just for the purpose of the uni course or is it going for a promo ect? - You wouldn't think there'd go out their way just for the uni course , if you get what I mean.

He said just before the promo was played that it was an "internal ITN promo" or something along those lines. Don't exactly know who it's aimed at but I very much doubt they did it just for my uni! Very Happy I suppose it might have been produced for visitors and other lectures they may be giving elsewhere? I can't really think of any other reason why it would have been made unless perhaps it'll turn up on the ITV News website.

I do think the previous News at Ten logo could have easily been incorporated into the new look, whether in it's white forum or tweaked slightly to make the clockface part yellow & black to link it in with the branding more.

it was nice to see a brief mention of Julie Etchingham's much-deserved RTS award at the end of tonight's programme.

And last night's News at Ten, and the lunchtime news, and the evening news, and on just about every ITV Twitter account...

It was certainly worth a mention but hopefully that's the last we hear of it until next year.
('ITVNewsInsider' posted that the award would be on the desk at the end of tonight's programme so, like the televisual equivalent of rubbernecking, I had to scan through the programme to see it only to immediately regret my actions Embarassed. I very much doubt having it there was Julie's idea.)

For those who would ever want to know what happenes at the end of a news bulletin, well on ITV Local's Westcountry-west page it seems that somebody left the camera rolling at the end to see the lights go out and presenters leave the studio. To see what I mean http://www.itv.com/westcountry-west/fullprogramme/?intcmp=NAV_THEWESTC0_FULLPROG3

...and on a similar note, came across this video on YouTube last night:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whRInj8skg4

Reminds of the time about five or so years ago when that ITN live loop appeared on a Sky channel, so we got to see Mark Austin and Nina Hossain rehearse the Evening News and things like that. IIRC it was replaced by something called Big Game TV less than a week later. Shame...!
