ITV News

Although not much promotion, I havent received a confirmination email that I had subscribed to (yet), no mentioned on ITV_News or itvnewsinsider on twitter. Facebook hasn't got anything and the lunchtime bulletin had no mention as far as im aware. Hmmm seeing as it has finally launched I wonder if it could make an "And Finally"

Nope, also ITV News is meant to be geeting a youtube channel, obviously though it hasn't launched yet. Lets see what happens on the ITV News at 6.30

The ITV News website looks quite nice, better than the Regional Variation.

Jeez, why would they devote an entire "And Finally..." to the new website? It may get a brief mention and that'll be all.

The website itself: very nice, does the job and glad to see it's finally launched. Great that you can now catch up with ITV News bulletins on the site itself if you've missed one. Shouldn't there be a link to the Tonight website, though? I'm sure there was one before, surely it makes sense to have a helpful link on the new ITV News site considering ITN are having more input in the programme these days.

It looks good, but not as nearly in depth as the BBC news website or anything. Its very similar to the regional variants which were up a lot earlier.

Maybe they should stop making things slightly better and actually great a good ITV.com that makes me want to visit it? I visit bbc.co.uk all the time if stuck for something to do - the same can't be said for ITV.com.

So Julie wins news presenter of the year at the RTS awards last night, ITV News at Ten was also up for the best programme but was beaten by the BBC's Rival Program.

My university's been doing a "Journalism Week" all this week with different speakers each day. One of the highlights being Tim Singleton and Chris Ship from ITN. Luckily all the lectures were taped and they're now online:

Skip to around 8:30 on the top video for an internal ITN advert (if you can call it that) which gives some indication of how the Election 2010 graphics and studio will look. Interesting how they emphasise how important the regions will be on the night, especially STV who'll be working with them as well.

In total it's 75 minutes long but well worth watching IMO.
