How long has the current name straps etc been in use, it hasn't been that long has it? They were introduced a while after the studio went blue were they not?
I seem to recall that the current straps were introduced when ITV News went widescreen in December 2007.
Just out of interest, why on earth did ITV News not go widescreen until as recently as 14 months ago? Sorry to go slightly off the topic here, but it's bugging me, don't ask why.

I think that ITV News (national) was widescreen before the News Channel closed, as I seem to recall at one point one was broadcasting in 4:3 whilst the other was in 16:9 (albeit possibly cropped).
EDIT: I stand corrected after checking with TV-Ark.
Thanks for the info Tom.
Down here the EN trail is shown in around nine out of ten editions of London Tonight.
I like the additional camera angles, pans etc., but, being awkward, I think I prefer the lighter background of the Lunchtime News. I suspect that the lighter version of the Evening News background will prove to be ideal.
Loved the new look Evening News. Far better than the Lunchtime News. It was helped by more swooping camera shots and the EN skyline was lovely. I think it's my favourite so far.
Wasn't that so much better with the presenters being seated for the entire bulletin? That, and the new skyline background, made the EN feel much more important and authoritative. A definite improvement.
dont mind then new look but the glass panels are too big. Athough it can now fit text down the side. When the thing about strokes was on - the face looked like it was going to eat Mark . Also the 1 (i think) live report they had was stuck up in the corner of the glass panel. Like somenone else said its too News at Ten
Slightly OT but Itv news has been nominated for these RTS awards.
Innovative News - On The Frontline - Afghan Headcams ITV News
News Coverage - Home - Ipswich - Guilty ITV News
News Coverage - International - China - The Earthquake ITV News
Scoop of the Year China - The Moment the Earth Shook ITV News
Television Journalist of the Year Martin Geissler - Africa Correspondent ITV News
And finally
News Programme of the Year News at Ten (rather than Itv evening news who have currently got this award, i believe)
The individuality of the News at Ten is now fading away. But remember back from 2001 - 2004, when all bulletins, including the News at Ten shared the same studio.
By the way does anybody have any videos, of the bulletins, closing titles, aswell as the coming up and breaks etc?

Good God, read other people's posts will you?! Several members have posted videos today and, failing that, either watch it or record it yourself from the TV!
