Perhaps no coincidence there then that she's cropped up on the Evening News (for the first time?) the day it's announced News at Ten was extended.
I think it could become the norm now for Julie to do the two bulletins one day a week and Mary to do the same, so they can both continue on a four-day week.

I think it's safe to say that this, unlike the original report that saw Julie join the Camerons for a day last year, was very much a coincidence.
She appeared on the Lunchtime News in the same capacity; asked to provide some 'insight' into their family life.
I'm sure Mary will continue to present the Evening News on days when she also covers the News at Ten but, the way things have gone so far, I don't expect to see Julie presenting the Evening News.

I dont see why she would need to - there are no changes planned for the evening news to my knowledge? Katie is the stand in for the Evening News (and Nina when she is back).

I think it is just a coincidence- unless something has been said on ITV News itself, it isn't really common knowledge at the minute as I haven't actually seen any published articles, just what people have been saying on here.
Did Julie present tonights Evening News or did she just do a report? Either way I think its good the way in which they seem to be incorporating News at Ten into the ITV News brand more and more, rather than having ITV News and then having News at Ten in a way that seems like two seperate things. Perhaps soon they'll go the full way and transfer on screen graphics etc across.

Their is a Media Guardian report on it. The link is somewhere on here.
A correspondent did a report on David Cameron's loss of his child, then Julie was in the studio discussing it in the studio, as she previously visited the Cameron household for an ITV News exclusive in 2008 I think.

Poor love.
Yep dhe's doing the big three, ironic that the Alistair and Katie aren't the most senior presenters but seem to do most of the work. Alistair will probably doing London Tonight, The Late News and The Lunchtime News.

Alastair's only presented the LN today, I think it was Ben Scotchbrook on London Tonight, tonight.

Katie is also presenting the Lunchtime and Evening News tomorrow.
It depends on how you measure seniority but Katie has more experience of presenting the ITV News than most and the skill with which she carries out the task is second to none so it makes sense to take advantage of that.
Alastair's absence from London Tonight today was presumably because he would have been recording or preparing for The Late Debate, but he too is one of the harder working presenters.
