That's correct, Rachel McTavish was the first person to present from there.

I don't suppose anyone saw the Morning News this morning?

I did, looked the same as last week.

Why would they do that, don't they always sit down for that bulletin?

They do, but the studio was the same as it was last week - with the fake walkway and same background.

Exactly, why should they have the fake walkway then? They should just give it the NaT "shiny" floor, if they sit down?

Because it's 'meant' to be a real studio that represents ITV News - why would they use the NaT floor? The point is the new look didn't start until today's morning summary, so they'd keep the morning news exactly as they did last week. I'd expect that also to change from tomorrow.

I'm thinking the minor change to the headline sequence may just be a swoop of the studio instead of the ITV News logo at the end, though I do hope we're finally rid of that teal mess.

Not much of a title sequence, and just a static overhead shot of the studio.

Not any title sequence really, ITV News was in need of a tone down, but not to this extent.

They haven't used the jib at lunchtime for some time, so the bulletin has long been low-key pres-wise.

Here are some caps from todays Lunchtime Bulletin. They used the usual pre headline sting, but no titles, instead just a musical sting over a wide shot after all the headlines had been read.

I think it's a slight change to the titles (the form up after the first headline has been removed, although the clockface people intro stays. The headlines are formed by a rising itv logo from the itv NEWS logo in the bottom left corner a la News at Ten), as well as the studio... but not much else...

Certainly looks a lot slicker - just a shame they haven't updated the graphics to the News at Ten style.

Studio looks great from above - not too sure about the close-up shots of the presenters though. The colours don't look quite right.

No big surprises there - but considering they're just using a two-second sting to open the programme surely the graphics team could have knocked up something new, and the same with the astons too. After all they manage to do something for things like "The Big Melt" or the US Election coverage - and a little bit of effort (not really effort, just tweaking what News at Ten have really) would have made today the start of a new look which could run for a few years.

As it is we've a nice "new" studio (which is much improved), but ultimately it's still the same look introduced a few years ago, and once we're used to the studio the bulletins will be in as much need of a revamp as they were before.

Although that said it wouldn't surprise me if they tweak the graphics a few months down the line - news organisations seem unable to revamp everything at once at the moment.

P.S. Anyone got a cap of News at Ten to compare the studio backdrop - is it the same view or not?
