Is it just my telly, or is there a bit of a problem with flickering, blocky pixels on the background for the Evening News right now? I just noticed it over Katie's shoulder - and I'm sure I've never seen it happen before.

The EPG guide....
On the mentions of EPG guide...

Just 'EPG' is sufficient as the G is an abbreviation for 'guide'. It's therefore as unnecessary as saying 'PIN number' Rolling Eyes

Or ITN News.

So both the ITV News summary opening and closing must be quite boring, by the impression by some people. There is no swoop, even though it uses the same camera angle as News at Ten - are both the opening and closing on the same shot?

Can anyone upload the opening and closing?

It is the same, static camera shot used for the opening and closing. Here it is from today...

and Londoner has posted the same shot from Monday on the first page of this thread.
It's a very short bulletin so though a little panning and zooming would be possible I don't think it's essential.

Oh. I thought that from the shots seen, the camera would zoom towards the desk and then cut to katie. (similar to News at Ten)

The swooping shots are done by the jib camera (on a crane). As a result of some cutbacks last year the jib camera operator's hours were cut so he/she now only works on Evening News and News at Ten. As a result, Lunchtime News and the Weekend News can only use static cameras.

Anyone have the summary opening and closing? Smile Confused:

So it is the same shot for the opening and closing, without any swoops?

Do you suffer from some form of short-term memory loss?

No swoop - just a wide shot then close up.

Here's a radical idea for you. If you aren't willing to take our word for it, why don't you just tune in to see the bulletin yourself?

Here's a radical idea for you - consider some people who do stuff during the day (work or school) and don't watch the news bulletins during the day.

That was why I was asking for the videos because I haven't seen them? Mad

We all have things to do in the day. Ever heard of a VCR/DVD Recorder/Sky+ etc? That's what I use if I'm out and want to watch something.
