I thought I saw Faye presenting on SKY News earlier today?

It's surprising how many ex-ITV NC people have appeared on SKY News. They haven't even taken the ones that were any good!

And the ones that were good are not as good as they were. Lucy Alexander, in my opinion, seemed much more at home on the ITV NC.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. She seemed somewhat subdued and dull, on the NC she was always watchable and brought the news in a friendly and interesting manner.

I was looking in Broadcast at the ratings for week ending 16th April.

The gap between the Six O'Clock News and the ITV Evening News has been quite small for a while but during that week ITV beat the BBC every day

ITV Evening News (Tue) 4.55
ITV News (Fri) 4.53
Six O'Clock News (Tue) 4.40
ITV Evening News (Wed) 4.30
Six O'Clock News (Wed) 4.16
ITV Evening News (Mon) 4.00
ITV Evening News (Thur) 3.91
Six O'Clock News (Mon) 3.81
Six O'Clock News (Thur) 3.76
BBC News (Fri) 3.30

So either the ratings for the Six have gone down, or ITV's have gone up, or both

I'm sure when you are talking about a difference of only 100,000+ people it really doesn't signify any real difference in the service - just the timing of the programme in relation to other broadcasts around the same time.

In an audience of (potentially) 60M people, 100,000 represents a very minor advantage in terms of quality of coverage. For example, I watch the ITV News on Sundays, simply because it is during the early evening (6:30pm), I don't particluarly want to wait for BBC's National/Local offering around 7:30-8:00pm.

Oh here we go again, defending the BBC, sure you would not say that if BBC News were in the lead.

Notice please that he defends ITV's earlier Sunday bulletin. Don't make false judgements.

Yeah you are right sorry.

I was just looking through some pages, and now that the new look has settled in. I now think the 2004 look looked so much more professional with the graphics.

The newswall worked so much better. Now it looks very messy, especially with that stupid clock face around the studio floor.

They could have made a really nice background with the new look graphics, a dark teal with lighter light beams slowly animating. Also there were no restrictions with the previous look, now a lot of camera angles dont work.
