So who got what at this weekend's internal ITV News Group awards?

I see from Meridian Tonight that Fred Dinenage got a special judges' award.

Calendar won a few. The only one they mentioned was something about best Entertainment or showbiz report or something which was won by Calendar's Entertainment Reporter Nicola Sands

What about Chris Rogers, surely he would have received an award for his two series of reports on child prisons?
By the way, I was watching Sky News the other day and Gary Cotteral (if that's the spelling) filed a report for them. I assume he's freelance but he made lots of reports for the news channel. Was he a freelancer back then, appearing on Sky News and the like?

Yes. He was originally a Sky staffer, but was controversially ditched along with another reporter (I forget who) a couple of years ago. He then popped up freelancing at ITN, but was soon doing stuff again for Sky News and Sports News as well.

He's one of those reporters who you rarely see- I only remember hearing him to voice overs on Sky and the news channel

It is intresting that Scotland Today got an award, considering they are not technically part of the itv Newsgroup.

I think they are. Scottish TV is part of the ITV Network just not part of ITV Plc's network. They are seperate things.

I thought that the newsgroup was owned by itv, thus meaning it is the English and Welsh franchises, ans Scottish, UTV and Channel, are not owned by itv, but instead are franchise holders for the itv1 transmission in there respective areas. They also have independent news production centres, independent from itv in London, thus not part of the itv Newsgroup.

Who presents the Morning news nowadays? Are Rachel McTavish and Sian Jones still around?
