There is a letter in next weeks Total TV Guide slagging off Katie's newsreading skills and saying Nina is better.

Its not often we have letters in tv guides talking about newsreaders so I thought it was worth mentioning.

I agree that Nina is a much better newsreader than Katie.
I think Katie should go back to London Today (then I don't have to see her) and have Nina back were she belongs...on the Lunchtime News.

Yes Nina should be on the lunchtime news with Nick, and a regular stand in for Mary on the evening news.

Katie's style has deterioated in recent years, when she co-presented the Evening News she was alot better. However i thought she was best when she was on the Nightly News and weekend news.

I believe Nina belongs on the Evening News with Mark Austin.

The first time in a long time Mary has done the Lunchtime News?

Is it even the first time since she joined ITN to cover for Kirsty Young's maternity leave in 2001 when she was still on the Lunchtime News before a couple of weeks later the line up was rejigged and the Evening News went duel-anchored?


Re: Katie - I do think she's a better single anchor, but I think it's the format of the Lunchtime News that lets her down, rather than the other way round. Nicholas Owen is no where near as good now as he was when he was the single anchor of the show.

I was just watching itv news and i saw that they haven't changed there umbrella. its still got the old itv news logo on it.

I think ITV news should make the floor green (leaving the walk way blue), so you can see the atrium underneath, opening it up a bit more. They could add some virtual casters beneath.

Hmmm. What about the vans in the regions. I saw a Border Television van the other day, still with 'ITV Border News and Lookaround' with the blue and yellow squares. Have any of the other regions changed this yet?

I think the sight of Mary and Mark standing on the walkway with a presumably bottomless atrium below might set my vertigo off.

I doubt its top priority at the moment really. And I believe there are still some BBC English regions who have vans with the old map titles on them.

ITV Central News has a new van, they promoted it in one of their reports. It has a big ITV logo in blue, with Central News written underneath.
