Sometimes these threads give you the impression you lot are more obsessed by rotas than presentation. Do you all work in HR and personnel offices?!

Reckon they work in the ITV pay office, Mark.

Programme finishes a minute early - dock the presenter three and sixpence out of their pay!

I guess this means he'll also stop doing the Weekend News - so it's likely it'll be a role shared by Andrea Catherwood and Nina Hossain.

The role will not be shared between Andrea and Nina, as the Weekend News in Andrea's role. I expect her to return in the next few weeks, as she only left about 6 weeks after Katie, and she was back 7 weeks ago. I imagine Nina will remain with the Sport and being the fill in for the Evening News. Nina works very hard, she has only had 3 days off in the past 3 weeks.

But she's only been doing the late sport Monday to Thursdays which surely involves only working a half day, she's hardly working down a mine

She was presnting the Evening News for alot last week. Also i don't think it envolves just half a day, she will need to be present for meetings etc. to agree a running order for the sports bulletin. I would also expect she does a certain amount of research around the topic, after all she is a Journalist not a presenter. I would imagine she gets into ITN at about 2, or 3. Meaning she will be doing atleast an 8 hour day, which the last time i looked was a full day.

She has to prepare for the bulletins as well. She has also been doing the weekend bulletins. She works far harder than most.

Todays Lunchtime News was like a national version of London Tonight, with Alistair and Katie presenting, with Tamsin at the Oscars. Tamsin even appeared in the headline sequence saying that she would be at the Oscars.

I'm going to have to start watching ITV more often! After a hilarious hour and a half watching their attempt at a drama (Rebus - don't ask), I stayed tuned for the ITV News.

A huge build up to a hugely important report on how the Amazonian rainforest is being burnt at a huge rate (this was actually their main story!?) we went to a special 'live link up' from Brazil with their Science Editor. Just that we didn't. The big square appeared on the newswall, and it was black. "That seems terminal" said Austin, who to be fair did hold it together very well, though I can't be sure as I was rolling around laughing.

It got funnier with the recorded report that came along to save the day. Said Science Editor running around the jungle in riduculous shorts and black socks up to his knees. Where was the pith helmet?

One moment of admiration though - the way the clock face fades into the studio floor still impresses. They obviously know it does too as they are fading in far earlier and for longer now. Keep it up, but lose the black socks!

While it was funny to see the live link just disappear, I cannot believe that is the top story on ITV on both bulletins (6.30 and 10.30).

You have a cabinet minister clinging on to her job, the trial of one of the 9/11 hijackers beginning or a story about the rainforest, if you were editor of the ITV News what would you lead with?

Well self-evidently the rainforest story which is part of your ground-breaking climate change campaign that you've splashed out big money on

And it's a 1999-style London Tonight pairing today at lunchtime - Alastair Stewart and Mary Nightingale.

I think Katie might be sick, I doubt it was planned to get Mary in to present the Lunchtime News. Also Katie said that she would be back today. Tuesday is also a very funny day to have off.
