On an unrelated note, inoticed in an episode of The Bill last night, that the itv News Channel made a breif reappearance. The storyline currently relates to a missing girl, and the news channel was on in the background, screening an appeal for the girl. One intresting thing was that it was complete with gold slug, with blue name aston, with red ticker. Why didn't they just use itv's current appearance?

Because it was probably filmed before the NC closed and way before ITV News unveiled its new look?

The Bill film quite a few months in advance I think, certainly more than the 4-6 weeks the soaps do.

There is always problems on ITV News, it hardly ever runs the way its planned

I don't think there is always problems wit da news man, innit? Sorry, but I don't agree. I think ITV are good at sustaining continuity during the news, and you using the word 'always' suggests everyday something untoward happens, which is clearly not the case.

Oh gosh, James Mates really is a dire presenter. He is so dull and stumbles on his words all too often, like just now, he cocked up the whole throw to the regions announcement.

Faye Barker is back on Calendar tonight, doing a bit of freelancing. The first time she's appeared on the main region (as opposed to just on Calendar East or South), since the closure of the News Channel

She gets around. Comes across as either desperate or professional. I doubt she ever has a day off.

What else has she done this week? Following the closure of the News Channel she doesn't have a regular job so will have to travel about working for various different broadcasters.

At least she's still on our screens. Many other ITV News Channel presenters including Owen Thomas have almost vanished

She was on Sky News earlier this week - and is apparently back on the Sunday night overnight shift.

Red Bee have updated their site, with lots of interesting things. For a start, this ITV News video, features the studio, with no blue walk way, just the white walk way, pre new look... and Mark with no tie, so this must have been filmed before the new look came on air... especialy for red bee or something.
