In my opinion there is no need to bring Lisa Knights in; there is already a surplus of presenters at ITN, so they should just give the role to someone who does do it occasionally and did not pop out of nowhere, maybe Jonathan Wills, as he is a sports correspondent anyway.

Knights was a breath of fresh air and really suited the programme along with coming across as a professional on her first night.
According to a member here who posted then left, Barr signed her contract with Al Jazeera on the day the news channel closed down.

This is saying that Dan Rivers will be Bangkok correspondent for CNN and ITV News in a joint deal, and that John Irvine will head up the new Beijing bureau.

In a way any reporter working at ITN is also working for CNN as they have occasionally shown reports from here on CNN and have taken ITV News simulcast on big news events such as the London Bombings.
All reporters may as well be part of a similar deal to allow ITV News coverage to be strengthened since the closure of the news channel

They're always showing ITN reports! And sometimes they forget to mention that they are ITN reports, but in any case they always cut off the sign off where they say 'ITV News' or 'Channel 4 News'. I don't have a problem with them sharing reports, but sometimes ITN doesn't get the recognition from CNN on air, so some of the excellent, moving reports, like the ones from Dan Rivers in Pakistan, are not even shown as ITN reports, just random reports from nowhere.

Andrea is the permanet weekend presenter. She is due back from Maternity leave soon. It will be intresting to see what happens to Nina when she returns. I expect Andrea to be given the Friday Lunchtime and Evening News, like what she was doing for a while in the summer.

I think they should give Nina the weekend role on a permanent basis.
It was much better in the past when the Weekend News had a regular presenter, with Katie Derham and Mary Nightingale both having stints as a regular weekend newsreader.
Nina could continue covering the Lunchtime and Evening News on Fridays, plus a couple of others days a week, along with her weekend duties.
Also, come on ITV and get a proper sports reporter in. If the 10.30 sport bulletin is so important, why let anyone read it. Mark Austin has more experience in the field than most the people reading it lately.
Also, bring back the weekend sports reporter - it just looks so much better having someone different doing it!

Mark should not be given the privalege of presenting two bulletins a day, it is not fair on other people. Plus sack Mary and Andrea, put Nina in Mary's position and Steve Scott for weekend. Jonathan "Willsy" is very very dire, just like Flic Barr.

I've never entirely bought into this idea that whoever reads the sports belt has to be a sports specialist. It's ITV News, not Wisden. You don't need a particularly deep knowledge of sport to do it. It's all very populist, wide-appeal stuff - not obscure sports trivia.
