Does anyone know if Scott Chisholm has found new employment yet? I thought his short-lived breakfast show had real cult classic potential. Never dull.

This is how the atirum should be used:

Looks much better, and anyother time, that window would just show an animated ITV news video.

Interesting interview with Mark Austin in today's Evening Standard in which he says that he thinks it's a shame that ITV felt unable to invest in the news channel.

In a day or two it will appear on the interviewer's website:

He's listed everywhere as being 47, but the ITV website says he is 43.

Interesting idea, and one that was considered. However, it tends to be far more restrictive in terms of studio use and camera shots than the chosen window layout.
But it does beg the question, if you don't feel the current look works, but the image must remain in the wall, how could this be improved? Answers in a mock design.......

I say it that way, as it doesn't create a huge split from the atirum. Plus, where that current video is, when no story is displayed, it would display an animated ITV news video, so short bulletins could open from a side shot, like the pre 2004 era. Plus this opens up a return of single presenter shots on double bulletins.

With the current look, the newswall images need to be more transparent, and less contrasted.

I so hope the ITV News Channel is named "News Channel of the Year" - it would be exactly what ITV deserve!

Well the News Channel of the year award is judged on the basis of performance in 2005 - not on whether the channel is currently operating. So it SHOULDN'T - in theory - make any difference. Although in practice the jurors will all know the circumstances of the channel's closure.
