I've just re-wound on Sky+ and he said "ITVN Weekend News team" - so not quite, but it was close enough. It's a pity they don't mention the ITN brand much any more as it would certainly add some much needed credibility.

Did Steve just say 'from all of the ITN Weekend News team'?
Don't count me to it as i wasn't totally concentrating but it did sound quite like it.

I don't see why they can't reference ITN in a voiceover during the title sequence - worked well between 1999 and 2001 having both "ITN" and "ITV News" mentioned. Why did they ever get rid of the voiceover on ITV News? Sky manages pretty well with one. I wouldn't mind, but ITV newscasters don't even get namestraps - Sky has both an aston and a voiceover!

In the opening sequence used until Friday, where would you suggest they put the voiceover?

I'd keep it short and simple - "ITV News with...", and based on the former opening sequence I'd have it after the main part of the titles...
So it would be...
Bong... Headline 1 (image)... Cut to studio for headline 1
Main titles - "ITV News with..."
and then straight into "Also tonight..."
On News at Ten it would be at the end of the headline sequence - and I'd put all the headlines back after the titles. Having one before the titles doesn't work at all IMO.

I know there have been rumours about this, and according to Sky EPG it just says National News & National Weather.
I wonder if we will see a change of look for the ITV News Summary?
