Caught him doing one of the evening bulletins last night. He did make a couple of fluffs, but hey the best do. On the whole not that bad though, better than Geraint at least.

I wouldn't say he was better than Geraint. At least you can understand what he says when he stumbles on his words. Though if Chris is used more often he might become less woodern. Steve Scott presented the bulletins on Sunday.

I would. Chris did a good job - Geraint (particularly when he started) seems like a rabbit caught in headlights, I much prefer him reporting than newscasting.

Well, I managed to see today's Lunchtime News, the first time in a couple of months (for obvious reasons). Just struck me today how great a pairing Alastair and Katie is. I enjoyed the odd banter they shared between each other, it's obvious they like working together too. A bit odd that about twenty minutes of the programme was devoted to the snowy conditions though (...on second thoughts, maybe not).

I'd quite like to see Kier Simmons presenting the news he's not bad looking .Although top totty has to be Geraint he's all that .

Slightly OT, but the "Theatre of News" has been in use for 5 years exactly today. Man that's flown quick, I don't think this Forum has ever been so busy at 5.30am ever at all.

Although all the standing up marlarkey and the state of the art graphics nonsense didn't last too long really.

Id love to see Kier Simmons presenting the news too - he is far far better looking than Geraint (my opinion obviously!)

WOW cant believe that was 5 days ago - its all gone so quickly. I remember that day on this forum. The same time the ITV regions all got the uniform ITV look to their titles/studios.

Isn't it about time to scrap the theater of news, or at least come up with a new background?

Have to say though that every tweak made since - to both the regional and national news - has been for the worse (wtih the exception of News at Ten). The atrium has never quite worked for me due to it being a very rectangular structure and the "theatre of news" being curved.

Agree though Seamus it's time for a change - I'm hoping that might be the silver lining to the changes in regional news in the next couple of weeks, but I think we'd know by now if any presentational changes were planned.

I agree. And I think the regional news titles are in need of updating. Hopefully we will get some new titles when the changes happen later this month.
