Does the Morning News presenter still do the GMTV bulletins for London - and IIRC at one point they were doing the late news for London Tonight too.
I'm surprised though ITV1 still seem to have news summaries overnight, and talking of "news" sumamries, do ITV2/3/4 still have the Showbiz news updates which only seem to be shown during films?

Of course Mary is a capable newsreader but I don't think that was one of her better interviews. I agree entirely that the Israeli spokespeople should be taken to task but repeatedly talking over the interviewee and slipping in a snide comment at the end didn't work for me.
(And Emma Thompson did indeed describe the proposed new runway as being a "socking" great [big] one
).
BTW, I like Alex Forrest as ITN's Political Correspondent.

Quite interesting Lunchtime News today, Mary on top form aswell, especially as she properly ripped into the Israeli spokesman. And I wouldn't have been surprised if Emma Thompson did swear on air, as she said a great big "socking", or on the lines of.

My understanding is she was never quite as highly rated by the powers that be at ITN as she rated herself. Also, audience research was done when she was at Five News and apparently viewers never warmed to her. One of the reasons I think why her stint there was rather short.

i wouldn't think they would need to 'poach' Andrea if they wanted her - she doesn't seem to be under contract anywhere else.

She never really suited Five News though, but I always liked her on ITV.
Considering she was poached for Five in the first place and then quickly poached back to ITV I wouldn't exactly say she wasn't rated by those at ITN.

Was she "poached"? Wasn't this during the era when ITN provided both Five and ITV news?

I think 2007-2008 is the best out of all of them, it's a shame they took the real walkway out.

For me, neither. The designs are OK, but I liked the 2003-2004 version better from the "ITV News" route.
As viewers, we have seen newscasters standing up to 'do' the news for, what, 12 years - I say it is about time that newscasters remained at the desk and just let the correspondents walk around. Anyone in agreement?
