Its usually the weekend presenters that are on around this time of year- Geraint became one of the main presenters this year. But this year we've had some of the main presenters because Nina and Romilly are both on maternity leave which has left them short staffed. Thats all there is to it (I think).

I see Geraint is listed for presenting on New Year's Eve and Day, I don't think he has been on since early December as James Mates/Steve Scott have been the prefered stand-in choices. I wonder if it's because he was unavailible or ITN don't think he's got the authority..

I'm sure Geraint did the Christmas Day bulletins last year; he may have presented following bulletins (New Year's, etc), can't really remember. The last time I saw Katie present a weekend bulletin was probably 2002 - so yes it made a nice change seeing her present this year's Christmas bulletins!

According to the Radio Times last year Geraint presented Christmas Eve, but it doesnt list who did Christmas Day or Boxing Day. Also New Years Eve it says Romilly did the Evening Bulletin and Geraint the Late Bulletin. On New Years Day it says Nina did both bulletins. It may have been the year before I remember Geraint presenting on New Years Day.

No, that was just Geraint too.
The Freeview EPG does show Katie and Geraint for both but I suspect that it was always the intention to have one presenter for these non-standard bulletins.
We should have Katie back for Monday's Lunchtime News (with Steve Scott, according to the EPG).
