It seems a bit fairer the way they are doing it today although we'll see if Mary does just the evening bulletin or if she does the late one as well. If its three seperate presenters- I hope they do something similar tomorrow instead of one being in all day and not having much of a Christmas, or even if its just two of them tomorrow.

Mary is doing the late news as well tonight.

Usually on Christmas Day one presenter will do all 3 bulletins (like all Bank Holidays I think)

The one presenter per day system usually takes place throughout all of Christmas and New Year

I hope Julie Etchingham does a day, it'd be strange seeing her doing normal ITV News

Is this the first year that ITN hasn't made a festive endcap? I don't recall what has happened since the new style was introduced a couple of years ago. I know they always had some falling snow and a piece of holly on the old blue endcaps. Nothing this year Sad.

Wasn't that only ever used on Christmas Day only, or am I imagining that?
I'm not sure if ITV News did have anything last year, but I know that Xmas 2006 bulletins had falling snow, in the same colour as the endcap (blue and pink, I think). Lucy Owen was the presenter (again, I think). Laughing

Hmmm, I could have sworn they used to make their first outing on Christmas Eve. I could be wrong, though. It's the BBC who now have festive endcaps; ITN seem to have put a stop to their tradition.

The powers that be must agree that it would be too much to ask one person to present all three bulletins on Christmas Day - Chris Rogers read the Lunchtime Summary.

Hopefully Katie will present the 17:45 and 23:30 bulletins, as planned.

Also, the festive endcap...

Was indeed strange to see Chris present, seeing as Katie is scheduled to present today's bulletins. But like already said, maybe she'll appear on the 5:45 and 11:30 bulletins.

Liking this year's Christmas endcap from ITN - much better than last year's effort where the holly appeared to have been randomly tacked on without any effects added to it. The snow's a nice touch, too!

As well of doing a spot of moonlighting on Hansel and Gretel Katie presented the evening bulletin and will be back with the Late News at 11:30pm Cool.

The Freeview EPG and Radio Times didn't actually show her presenting the lunchtime bulletin so no doubt Chris Rogers presenting it was as originally intended, though Katie's voice has been sounding a tiny bit less smooth than usual for the last week or so - I do hope she isn't coming down with the flu.

Endcap-wise, I don't remember last year's but this one is a nice touch. My still image doesn't do it justice as the snow is quite effective.

Did someone forget to press the play button on the sound desk at the end of the 6pm bulletin tonight?
