Lucy Meacock, at the end of the lunchtime summary, said she'd be back with the next bulletin at 1655. I guess it's in the middle of the film. However, the regional news was before the film. Wouldn't it have been more sensible to show the film first, then the regional and national news afterwards? They would have been going out from 1815 in that instance, so would be more consistent with the weekday schedule. In any case, couldn't they have at least scheduled ITV News as a standalone programme in the EPG? It's really confusing when they don't as it appears there's no news on ITV until 2230.

Cheers.
Of course it would - but common sense and ITV don't go together. The splitting of afternoon films for the news is ridiculous, especially when it can air afterwards at a sensible time - without annoying viewers of either the news or the film. I guess though the Sunday bulletin is no longer the highest rated of the week since Michael Grade decided to rip up the Sunday night schedule and hand victory to the BBC.

Its a pointless exercise and I have no idea why they do it. Its like when they've had a film on a Saturday night and split the news at about 11.30pm for the late bulletin when they could have just done it before the news

What has become of Nina Hossain - I thought she was on the rota for weekend bulletins?

I'm surprised ITN haven't got her back, especially with the shortage of female newsreaders for ITV they currently have.

I think The Sunday Edition launched in September or October 2006, iirc. Didn't it finish towards the end of 2007? I haven't seen or heard of Andrea Catherwood since then.
