I still don't like saying The London Studios and prefer to call it the old LWT building!! Very Happy

AIUI the building is not The London Studios - it is usually named (confusingly for cabbies) The London Television Centre, and prior to this was known as Kent House. (It is sometimes referred to as The South Bank Television Centre as well I believe)

That said - most people still call it LWT...

The London Studios (aka TLS) is the trading name for the studio operation based there - not the name for the entire building.

It is the difference between BBC Television Centre (the building), and BBC Resources Studios (or BBC Studio Resources) (the studio operation)

Every Friday at 5.15pm I'd see that tall building and Peter Lewis would welcome us to LWT. It's etched into my memory.

And MTV comes from the old TVAM building. Wink Yep I'm stuck in the past all right!!

The end of the titles failed to play on the Evening News, (where the logo forms), instead it was a black screen for a few seconds. Near the end the ITN slide stayed on for a few seconds longer, so we missed some of the god awful Sheilas Wheels ad.

There was a bit of a problem at the start as well. Just saw that Nina Hossein is pregnant again. Didn't she recently comeback from maternity leave?

ITV News pre-record their opening sequences up to and including the titles end sting. It looked as though as they were playing it out, it failed towards the end. The first live bit is when the presenter says 'good evening'.

I don't mean to be rude but I know this already. Wink

Not long then for Trevor's 3-week break.

I think she returned just over a year ago.

My goodness, people on here just can't wait for him to go, can't they! Laughing Wink

Has Bill presented NAT since it came back or am I just imagining it? Speaking of him, I'd really like him to become Mark's main cover. He's a great newscaster and I just can't stand Geraint at all!

Also what would happen when Mark's role on the EN if he replaces Trevor? He'd still continue to do the EN presumably, but would it be on a sort-of 3/2 per week basis?

Knowing Mark and his ego he would do them both. If not, Geraint must NOT get the job. He's a good reporter but he's very 'school boy' when he's presenting. I don't mind him on the weekend but I don't think he's good enough for the evening bulletin. I wouldn't mind Alastair doing it (who incidently seems to have landed the Friday night job) purely because him & Katie work very well together on the Lunchtime News and you can tell they genuinely like eachother. I like this because of the kind of bulletin it is. Its very "regional"-esque and quite fluffy/light hearted. You need that sort of presentation connection for that kind of show. Although he isn't my personal favourite, Steve Scott never usually gets a look in unless its weekend of Bank Holiday.

Out of interest, despite Julie being on the flagship show, is Mary still thought to be ITN's head female anchor?

Cant recall Bill presenting News at Ten - its always been Mark or James as stand in presenters I think?

If Mark moves to News at Ten id like Bill or James to be the main presenter on the EN.

You're probably right, actually.

I agree; both are excellent newsreaders and I feel they deserve to be spotlighted a bit more. Speaking of Bill he's been reporting from Washington quite a lot recently; I would think John Irvine is on holiday but he's been absent for quite a long while now, hasn't he?

At the end of the evening news after the Carol V story Mark said to Nina. There's a job for you. Nina didnt look too impressed.

There also seemed to be a few sound problems about half way through.
