Lucy Meacock presenting the Evening News with Bill Neeley. Is this a first for Lucy?

An excellent pairing on the Evening News tonight, Bill Neely and Lucy Meacock. Did she present the Lunchtime News too?

Very bizarre for us North West viewers watching Lucy Meacock on the evening news

Its interesting how they've got her down from Manchester, and they've been using her more and more lately. I'm starting to wonder if ITN are attempting to poach her again, or if they will eventually use her as Nina's maternity cover, because then when Nina returns they aren't exactly denying Lucy a job.

Surprised to see Lucy Meacock on the EN. Mary was supposed to be presenting today.... there was also no sign of her on the "coming up" VT as well, just Bill.

EDIT: erm... beaten to it by four posts!

It is good to see Lucy on the Evening News, let's hope she can presnet News At Ten in the future too.

Seems weird seeing Lucy on the evening news having just watched Granda Reports.
Lucy does a good job here in the north west so no wonder she is wanted in London.

At Lunchtime, Alistair said Bill and Mary would be presenting this eve!

That was a little odd.
I wonder if there was some event that all the main presenters were attending?

Or maybe Mary just took a day off

According to the Radio Times it's Bill Neely on the Evening News for at least 2 weeks

I noticed Mary's voice was breaking up a bit on last night's programme so maybe she's unwell? Either way, it was great to see Lucy getting a shot at a main bulletin. She handled it very well indeed - after all, the national news is quite a different thing to regional news.

Lucy was amazing! Compared to her, I find it difficult to understand why such trout like Julie Etchingham are being used for the News at Ten. It's nice to have an older face, she was absolutely brilliant!
