I dislike her, I know Mary isn't brilliant, but at least she has a dress sense.

I think Nina has a better dress sense than her!

I wonder if this means Nina will be the regular stand in person on the ITV Evening News?

Well, it certainly is interesting that they chose her over Katie Derham to stand in for Mary.

Katie does the lunchtime news and London Tonight though doesnt she?

Yeah but you'd expect someone else to do London Tonight to allow Katie to do the Evening News. Also Nina was back on the Lunchtime News today.

On Katie's first week back I don't think they'd have her only doing a 3 day week.

Is it me or are people obsessing over Nina Hossain a bit lately?

I wonder if Nina might now become the main weekend presenter, doing the bulletins on Saturday and Sunday plus the Lunchtime News and Evening News on Fridays and when required.

I thought that was going to Andrea Catherwood?

However, this may be her gig until Andrea is back from maternity leave?

Just so long as they keep Nina on our screens!

Nina is a much better presenter though so id prefer her as a stand in on the Evening News. Katie already has one regular national bulletin (lunchtime news) to present.

I see Mark is off again this Friday with Steve doing the ITV Evening News with Nina Smile

First ad break on the Evening News since the relaunch IIRC. Slow news day?

I'm still loving the relaunch, think it looks so fresh.

Yeah - I can see that Katie is certainly earning her keep, as is Mark. If they did any more bulletins the rest may as well not turn up! I realise that Nina is on as much at the moment, yet she is not on as much as the other two.

But what has become of Felicity Barr? I see that Lisa Knight is doing the sport - on the revamped Rolling Eyes late programme. I also thought that it was going to be longer than thirty minutes? Or was that just chitter chatter? She may be on holiday, but I thought she'd be there for the relaunch to mark her ground as 'main' sports anchor. It was said she'd have a bigger role in the revamp!

The Relaunch is brilliant. The atrium back drop is very nice and makes the newswall less tacky.

There was a ad-break on Tuesday's EN.

I'll try to address a few issues here.

In terms of Nina standing-in for Andrea, Bill and James have been covering recently, and with Andrea due to return soon, Nina doing the weekend bulletins temporarily at this point seems unlikely.

I still believe that Katie is more likely to front the Network bulletins than Nina; as pointed out she was absent for the 12.30 today so perhaps that would explain why Nina anchored tonight's Evening News - Katie is simply having a break.

With Felicity, as many have suggested, she may simply be on a break fr a couple of weeks. On the other hand however, with ITV News relaunching on Monday, and ITN hyping up Mark and Felicity for the revamp, it seems a little suspicious that she is not there to see the new look in, and instead a new girl comes into play. I suppose we may find an answer on Monday night's bulletin.

What happened first, the announcement that Felicity Barr would front a new bigger better sports slot on the ITV Nightly News, or the announcement that the ITV News Channel would close?

Officially I think the bigger better sports slot was reported first. I've only watched one or two editions of the 10.30 this year - didn't notice the sport slot was significantly expanded.

Probably more for the London thread, but have they got a dedicated team in place yet, or just still using pretty random presenters? Does the ITV Morning News host still do the GMTV London bulletins?

Why does the new atrium view look like a last minute job compared to election 05? Election 05 had a bigger atrium, and real images in all windows, plus it looked better with the newsrooms at the back aswell. The current one looks bad compared to that one. Why not just use the original atirum VR?
