Who am I missing from the BBC's regular saturday pool? Ben, Jane, Matthew, and Emily. Is Simon one of the others?

On Saturdays Matt or Jane are probably the most regular, but Louise, Simon, Ben and Nicholas are also part of the pool. On Sundays it is usually Mishal, and then Emily when she's not on, and occasionally someone from the Saturday pool. The Lunchtime presenter is either Maxine or Tim. Chris Lowe, Sophie Raworth, Joanna Gosling and Peter Sissons have all appeared but aren't regular. So really they are quite a bit more varied than ITV's four.

This threads in danger of becoming the BBC News rota thread! Laughing

On the weekend topic, the Saturday shows do seem to have returns to more reasonable slots in the last few weeks - around 5pm and 11pm, though the 11pm edition is still in the middle of a film.

Yes, that was funny! Slim sue...

To be serious though, I did quite enjoy watching the pompous Miss Derham being corrected. It just goes to show that anchors really shouldn't add their own sarcastic, subtely mean comments in an intro to a piece. Ouch! I noticed she wasn't presenting today, probably best given the unusual amount of attention given to this story.

In reference to this, this clip is rather amusing as Nolen gets slated by moyles for his interview with 'Fat Sue'

The Radio Times next week says that Nina will be doing the Evening News Tues-Fri and Katie will be doing News at Ten Tues-Thurs so both Mary and Julie must be on leave.

It's school half term in most places next week, so regular presenters often take the week off.

As the football is going to majorly over-run tonight will 'News at Ten' be branded 'The Late News' tonight instead?

I'm sure it won't. News at Ten is the programme's name, so I think it's likely to stay that way, no matter how late it starts.

It wouldn't make much sense calling it 'News at Ten' if it starts after 11pm, though, would it? The way it's going, the match could go to penalties and then they have to have the ceremony afterwards. We could potentially be looking at a very late start tonight.

They'll probably do what they always did with the old news at ten. Change the time on the clock face - that's it.

The titles aren't rendered live so that's not possible - as we saw from the short-lived Friday night Late News use of truncated NaT titles.
