I noticed too that correspondent signed off with ITN, he was reporting from Germany I think.
The Lunchtime News ran much better with one anchor. Steve said he will be back for the Evening News. However Salma Siraj presented London Today, with a wobbly background at the start of the bulletin, does this come from the ITV News studio?

Yeah, was quite a surprise!
It was Eric MacInnes, regular Central reporter.

was it just me or did a reporter (don't know who, not a regular) on the lunchtime news ended with '[name]itn' rather than itv news? Strange surprise

It always did before it became an hour long and when it was cut short they should have cut it back to one - especially when Nicholas Owen quit for the BBC.

And Eric was an ITN reporter for some years, before moving to Central. I'm sure he moved before it became refered to in Standard Out Cues as ITV News rather than ITN.

I am a little annoyed where ITV News is concerned because there is all the hype involving NAT's return and they publicise that THE LATE NEWS is on Friday night at 11 and then they get rid of it. I think that they should create its own titles and still have Mark and Julie hosting. Or even Mark and Mary because she was great on NAT last week!! In some mags its still advertised as the late news and its nowhere to be seen. They just need to keep the continuity otherwise how can the news be taken seriously?
