[Oh really, so people are not allowed to not like someone now? It's not my fault she is a boring presenter.

Have you lost a job have you? Being that you are soo touchey about this?

It's one thing to say that you don't happen to like a particular presenter for whatever reason; it's something else to wish them ill in their career.

Whilst Dog and I have seldom agreed in the past, I do think it's important to remember that we are talking about REAL people and their lives and careers when we discuss presenters here.

Saying that you hope someone has been sacked is hardly very mature.

Anyone would think I wished someone to be dead, and plus many people would think this about someone anyway. She probably would not care if I got the sack, so why should I?

How can you say that? I'm sure if you knew Felicity she would be concerned if you lost your job.

I have to agree with Dog here. These are real people we're dealing with and I often think it is easy to forget that. They are only doing a job like everybody else and I think they are over-scrutinised. As Londoner said, it's one thing to dislike someone but it's another to say you want to see them sacked. Many people in the media read these forums - imagine if Felicity clicked on here and saw that. I'm sure you wouldn't like that to happen to you in your job.

I have to agree the original comment was ill-placed... but on a purely practical level I notice since the ITN website was updated and the News Channel removed there is no mention of her on the website. That said neither is Steve Scott or Lisa Knights pictured or mentioned.

My bet is she is using up last year's un-used holiday.

I cannot see why Felicity would remain at ITN. her on-air time as dropped to just 5-10 minutes a night. She's not even the main female replacement. Nina and Andrea (when she returns) are likely to be used before Felicity.

I'm really surprised that with all the female presenters ITN have, that Katie is doing both the Lunchtime News and London Tonight. They should've gave Nina the London Tonight slot, and leave Katie with LN.

Re: UTV - did they change the astons. I know they used to use a doctored version of the ITV News astons (though I don't know if they were still using these!)

P.S. Anyone know where Felicity has got too? She's not been seen since Christmas!

Sacked hopefully.

When you leave school and get a job, and rise up through your profession, perhaps making it big one day, i'm gonna be the first one to rub my hands and gloat non stop when you lose your job, or get sacked, or whatever.

You're a nasty, pathetic fool.

I suppose you think it's funny to write what you did. But then you're probably a thick chav who will sponge off the state for the rest of your life, and never do a hard days work.

Grow up.

There's never anything as catty as this at the mothers' union... calm down.

I'll ask again - what happened to the "Nightly News" branding?

AND why don't the straps animate out on the national news?

The regional and national news straps are quite different, I think that's just the way they are designed. I much prefer the national straps, but I'm not mad about either. The regional animation is horrifically tacky!

I like the way the National Headline straps animate off though, especially with that little 'whoosh' sound...

Do they do that on all bulletins now - take the video, then zoom in to a still and then zoom in further with the whoosh sound? I've only seen it on the Evening & Nightly - was it a late addition or because those are more "hard news"?

Hmm. Well if I recall in the 2004 revamp the straps didn't animate out and only faded, but eventually animated properly out. Perhaps they'll tweak it later.

I wish they would start calling it the Nightly News too...

Yes. http://media.guardian.co.uk/broadcast/story/0,,1663752,00.html

"And in a further change from what was once the News at Ten, the broadcaster is getting rid of the clunky name of ITV News at 10.30 in exchange for the more snappily titled Nightly News."
