Sian Williams is also something of a veteran, having been around since 1997. It's rather sad, though, that it has come to the point of categorising someone onscreen for 10 years as being a 'veteran'. That in itself is evidence of the ageism of broadcasting.
BBC World has quite a number of female veterans. Lindsey Brancher has been around since c.1991 and others like Nisha Pillai, Martine Dennis and Lyse Doucet have been on the channel for at least 10 years. They also have a number of veteran males, including Nik Gowing, David Jessel, Mike Embley and Peter Dobbie.

Dont know if its been mentioned but at the end of Tuesdays NaT both closing stings were played - the NaT one and the generic ITV News one!
TO
Yep, mentioned a couple of pages back. I caught the second half of the programme and managed to capture it. Was quite funny.
Any chance of uploading it for those of us who never caught it?

I think it is her first time on one of the main national programmes. Although I did not watch the LN, I have seen her present London Tonight with Alastair, she is an excellent newsreader.
I wonder if she will appear on the Evening News..

Salma Siraj on The Lunchtime News today with Al Stewart... is this the first time she has done the national news excluding the 5.30 Morning news??
