Do ITV do tours of their studios? Must be such a disappointment for some people expecting to see this massive theatre of news and then to be faced with a big blob of green with a small table in the centre.
Unfortunately, I don't think they run tours of ITN. But, I agree I'm sure some people would be disappointed if they saw the real studio. Not for TV pres fans like us, though

Perhaps they're worried that if you wear a green shirt, you could sneak into the set and appear as a disembodied head halfway through
News at Ten
.
Sorry if its a silly question and has already been discussed but are ITV News and News at Ten sharing the same studio? I thought ITV News moved out of its usual studio a few months ago for the preps for NaT?
They're still in the same studio as they have been since at least 2004, maybe even longer. Before Christmas, they moved studios temporarily to allow the walkway to be removed and the floor to be painted green. This allows more flexibility for backdrops - NAT doesn't need a walkway. As it stands, the walkway is keyed in for the Morning/Lunchtime/Evening bulletins and NAT has its own look which is keyed in. The only real bits of the studio now are the platform, desk and wall - everything else is virtual.
Thanks very much for explaining so how are the presenters raised when they are standing on the virtual walkway? Just standing on boxes?
Also I take it they swap the chairs for NaT because they are black?

So the news at ten 'paper weight' is virtual also ? I quite like the misty glass effect used with the OB's. Apparently this ' effect' looks very cool in HD NBC said as they use something similar for their Today show which is now in HD

Perhaps the studio is 'HD ready' ?!
Very much doubt it is HD ready - ITN haven't invested in HD capable cameras, vision mixers, routers or editing/recording gear for their main production studios AFAIK. Would have made the trade press if they had.
(They may have the ability to shoot HD PSC and edit in one of their suites - but that isn't the same thing)
Also - upgrading their virtual studio from SD to HD would be a significant investment (as HD requires around 6 x as much processing as SD) for no current return.
The glass elements with the logos on are quite effective - though they didn't look real to me. (It is interesting too what goes around coming around with the glass effects. The BBC non-virtual virtual blue era in the mid-90s had a large cut glass CGI BBC crest floating in some wideshots - though it was far more dominating and ridiculously large! (And not fully virtual)
