I think ITV have got it 100% right with the new look ITV News. I love the new titles and the studio is awesome - I love the atrium.

Well done to all involved.

Don't suppose anyone has a capture of the Central News (East) Leicester backdrop? I'd like to figure out which building the camera is on so I can impress my girlfriend with my amazing TV Pres facts.

Agreed.
I think that ITV has now really outdone themselves this time and they are just looking brilliant. The BBC has some catching up to do in terms of presentation anyway!

The new ITV News look is definitely better than the last, and is a major improvement. I like the atrium background, and the colours are just starting to grow on me.

All in all it does look very good. I would have liked to have seen the programme names brought back into the titles again, but never mind.

This shot looks really good, and I think it should be used on a single presenter shot at the desk, instead of putting graphics up blocking the atrium view.

I agree the close up atrium shots look superb - almost warrants a return to sitting down behind a desk newsreading! It looked really good on the 10.55 summary.

I do agree the atrium background is kind of lost when the newswall is used as standard - on the Lunchtime News they seemed to use it differently with just a narrow strip in the middle, but on both the later bulletins it was used exactly the same as before.

And back to is it a relaunch or revamp - well, it's quite comparable to Channel 4 who changed everything but the basic studio - though they got a new desk and changed the colouring a bit.

With the ITV studio being mainly virtual - and the virtual background changing dramatically, it's quite a big change.

It's certainly a bigger revamp than the annual revamp Central News used to have before the ITV PLC look came in!

I think what lets it down is the changes to the walkway being quite minimal - if they'd put a teal carpet in, it have made all the difference!

P.S. Did anyone notice if there were minor differences in the titles throughout the day - were the 10.30pm titles darker than the Lunchtime News titles.

It would have been nice to see an alternative of where the sports segment is presented, perhaps from the newsroom or just sitting next to Mark; Lisa just seems a bit 'detatched' standing up there.

The new set worked really well on the Morning News.

They are back to full titles, and with the programme being anchored from the desk with nothing but the atrium background it looks fantastic!

Thanks for those pictures Londoner. Have they moved down the wide shot camera so you cant see above the newswall ? Very clever if they have
