I see they have changed the camera angles on the Evening News. The main camera (for 2 presenter shots at desk) is being used to zoom out at the end of the bulletin, until it stops at the right of the studio.

Is this the one you are referring to?

Indeed, it doesn't really look any worse than the real one. I don't understand why they've kept it there though, other than to make the studio appear the same as it did before.

Yeah.

They way they did it though reminded me of when Trevor hosted the ITV News at Ten Thirty in 2004. Unfortunetly they didn't swing the camera round far enough to see the cameras.

With the walkway, looking at that capture, wouldn't it make more sense to have it the same colour as the platform that the desk is on rather than what is on the wall?

Looking at that picture, I actually think the whole set would look so much better of the atrium was in colour and not in blue.

I don't see how you can say that at all. It is awful.

No, it would look dreadful.

Sorry if its a silly question and has already been discussed but are ITV News and News at Ten sharing the same studio? I thought ITV News moved out of its usual studio a few months ago for the preps for NaT?

They're still in the same studio as they have been since at least 2004, maybe even longer. Before Christmas, they moved studios temporarily to allow the walkway to be removed and the floor to be painted green. This allows more flexibility for backdrops - NAT doesn't need a walkway. As it stands, the walkway is keyed in for the Morning/Lunchtime/Evening bulletins and NAT has its own look which is keyed in. The only real bits of the studio now are the platform, desk and wall - everything else is virtual.

Do ITV do tours of their studios? Must be such a disappointment for some people expecting to see this massive theatre of news and then to be faced with a big blob of green with a small table in the centre. Laughing
