Katie Derham just revealed that Mark Austin didn't feature in tonight's Evening News promo (the London variant, anyway) because he was stuck in the lift.

Are you sure it wasn't Mary Nightingale? Thats who we got here. But like you say its a London variant it just seems a bit odd to use a presenter that isn't on Laughing

I see they have changed the camera angles on the Evening News.

The main camera (for 2 presenter shots at desk) is being used to zoom out at the end of the bulletin, until it stops at the right of the studio. Also after the break they used the same camera for the presenter standing up.

Looked good.

Yes, I thought that too. I may get shot down in flames here but I actually think the virtual walkway looks good. I'd go so far as to say it looks better than the real thing did!

I'm sure they have tweaked the music, that goes out just before the break on the Evening News. It sounds much shorter and less dramatic.

Do you mean the bed or the sting? I didn't pick up any difference. It could just have been the sound mixer who was on tonight.
