I expect it will take Julie a while getting used to looking at a green screen, after she's been used to looking at a real newswall at Sky all these years. Wink

I'm sure Trevor will show her the ropes and make sure she's looking in the wrong direction! Wink

Getting a bit casual there aren't they?

P.S. Also seem to be on the sofa rather than chairs as the other caps make out!
I assume you realise that that's the promo played out during the local news?
Only for the London opt though isn't it... On the Anglia promo they were standing up.

Yep, I noticed this too, what's different on the London Tonight update promo then? Is it just the same but they're sitting down instead??

I think the London promo is a bit longer than the generic one for the other regions. And London Tonight gets namechecked - ie "That's all coming up on the ITV Evening News, right after London Tonight" or similar

On the generic ones, they promote 2 headlines - standing up. However on the London one they sit down, promoting 3 headlines.

I'm suprised about the studio changes - I wasn't expecting anything! Good to see Geraint back to his usual role on releif presenting.

James Mates looked as though he went up a step when he walked onto the platform underneath the news desk - when the programme closed.

Yes, he walked very cautiously to the desk and at the last minute he stepped up onto the platform. Sort of shattered the illusion, didn't it?

He walked much more slowly than normally, I could imagine him thinking 'where the hell do I walk to?'

LMAO! Well I suppose it won't be for long! I'm banking on January 7th now.

i think it's pretty safe to assume that everything behind the desk is fake. That walkway looks like its been drawn up in paint.

But is it me or is there a divide on the actual desk itself?

It looks that half the desk where they're sitting at is real and the front half with the light is fake?

That also seems the case on the other virtual set pictures.

Here's a low-quality video

It's not half virtual, the back half of the desk is matte, as not to reflect the CSO.
