I wonder if they're changing the walkway light bulbs!

And how long does that take?

It's called a joke - knowing ITV it would take them all weekend. Lighten up or add something of use to the thread, instead of having a go at forumers.

The light on the desk goes sometimes aswell, I remember in the 2004 era the light blew and it was grey for about 3 weeks!

It was grey for a lot longer than that. It was something like 6 months.

Apologies, I thought you were being serious. I wasn't having a go at anyone - more ITV News if they were going to take this long!

Some wide shots of the virtual studio from the Morning News:

Also I hadn't seen this Teletext ad before:

Good to see they have tweaked the virtual studio image so include the dark blue walk way.

The Teletext Ad has been running for a while now, not often shown though. Is it the virtual studio used , or the actual main studio in that advert?

What will they be doing with the studio? Will it just be tweaks like changing the lights.
Or major, adapting the set for News at Ten? (But that would be costly, and their budget isn't all that big is it?)
JO
Joshua
I doubt its major, but it must be something to do with the lighting or the walkway/desk, unless they are changing the background and they need to rehearse, but if you remember the current blue background, which changed from the teal, didn't need for bulletins to be presented in the virtual studio.

The main one I guess - the sofas give it away, and the fact the desk doesn't look **** like it does in those Morning News caps.

Proves though with the right background the ITV News studio can actually look pretty good. I think it's just a case they need to change it every year or so - both the squares and atrium looked good at first, but then as we get used to them we just get bored of them.

I don't know who that man is in the caps above (beneath the Phil Gayle caps), but he looks awfully like Jack MacFarlane from "Will and Grace". Who is he, actually?

That space shuttle background looks awful though - I hope you aren't talking about that.

I think it looks great, really modern!
The atrium has became very boring, but as someone else said, it looks fantastic in the virtual studio, much lighter. I still favour the ITV set over the BBC's, ITV's has much more character.

Sorry, I disagree, it's very flat and has no depth!

Again, I disagree. I am still very keen on the atrium.
