Are they not allowed to use teal and blue? Where is this rule that they are only allowed to use one colour. It would be very boring if every single thing was blue. BBC News use multiple shades of red, black, white

Exactly. I can't understand why some people are getting so wound up over this. The ITV News colours are clearly teal, blue and yellow. Just as the BBC News colours are red, black and white. The BBC studios, titles and graphics are not all one colour - they're a mixture of all the colours. Why does ITV News have to be completely blue? Green and blue fit well together so I don't see the problem.

Surely this is just the same as when BBC News were in the middle of changing their graphics. Didn't they change their graphics to red but keep the cream titles for a while, and various other changes where everything didn't match for a period

The BBC News graphics are consistent though. Black background on titles / black astons. Red pattern in titles, red in the astons. White logo, white font.

ITV News has two main colours which don't look right teal and blue.

And in the past I've criticised them for that. In recent times it's been better though and most of the time changes in the titles, astons and studio have been done at the same time.

Who are you guys trying to kid saying teal is 'one of the colours' - it's ONLY used in the logo now. Hardly like the studio has teal tints in it or anything. It's completely blue.

I think ITv regional news have got it just about right. These posts about a right mess etc is crazy, the real mess was before ITV went in for this branding where all studio sets and intros around the country were totally different from region to region

So, it is one of the ITV News colours, then. If the logo is teal then that's one of their colours. You'd be hard pressed to find one news programme or channel that uses just one colour for logo, titles, studio and graphics. As has been stated, that would look terrible. CNN has a mixture of red, white, black, blue, green and yellow. No one item contains all those colours but they feature prominently onscreen at all times. The BBC's colours are red, black and white. Again, these filter through in different ways. The titles are black and red but the studios are red and white. The graphics are a mixture of all three.

Therefore, ITV's colours are teal (logo, titles), blue (studio and graphics) and yellow (elements in studio and opening strap). And as I said earlier, blue and teal go well together. It's not as if they are using two colours which clash.
