If they're going to give ITV News a new look, it would be more sensible to do it on the same day as News at Ten launching.

Why change the straps then?

Because they've looked stupidly out of place for ages.

And the teal logo on the titles hasn't?

I imagine the logo will be able to be used in two formats. White when it is on a dark background and coloured when used on a light background

You could hardly see the teal bits on the old straps so that'll probably be why they've changed it to white

Or because teal on blue would look horrendous?

I've set Sky+ also. I happened to see the Early Morning News on Saturday at 05:30 and they didn't play out the titles at all, just the intro music with the overhead shot.

Hmm. They haven't played out the full opening sequence at all today, then. Both main bulletins today have only opened with a sting. I wonder if they are planning to make some alterations after all? It would seem a bit strange given that NAT is due to launch next year; I would have thought they'd have kept it all to one date rather than do it in dribs and drabs. But with ITV News, you never really know.

It was very nice to see ITV News in glorious widescreen, and as said it makes a massive difference on DTT rather than being zoomed in. I never realised how much of the sharpness was lost.

The greatest thing is that we don't have to watch 16:9 images cut to fit a 4:3 programme and then have that zoomed in so that most of the original16:9 images are missing, mostly sports footage over the past couple of years.

With the sting, could they be trying to phase it out because it doesn't fit, rather than changing it?

Surely it would be easier to just change the clock to blue, have all the headline and then just use an altered sting with a white logo into the programme?
Though I agree that I wouldn't think that a massive change would occur until next year, and then relaunch with the new bulletins, well new News at Ten. Unless they change everything else now, don't bother changing anything in the new year and have News At Ten look totally different to everything else as it once did.

And don't the credits look smaller, and love the endcap which now look weird, though I'm guessing that they may change that by Monday.

I agree just seen the strap animate, way too fast! They need to slow it down.

I agree. Straps too fast.

Also, teal logo but it was only a 'summary' screen. Why can't they just put a blue hue on that final screen?

Weather is still cack.

Oh my god, new Regional straps and titles are nice! Seems odd though, some teal remains on the regions (weather etc) and national, while more has switched the blue.

Plus at ITV Meridian there is a new mini video wall.

On the Regional titles the logo is darker, not sure if its green or blue. Funnily enough the regional graphics look flashier than the national, they don't complement that well.

Was their ment to be no sound for a few secounds at the start of the titles?

Because Tyne Tees seemed to quickly put the sound volume up half way through the titles.

Nice animations and style of astons though!

Edit: Shame they can't close the bulletin with a short sting or something from the titles. They just use the weather sting to close the bulletin before the weather forecast, but not after... it looks quite sloppy.
