No it was definitely different to anything I've seen before. It was used during the report on the ship which went under near Antarctica. It was shown in the incorrect aspect ratio (so we saw the whole aston but it was squashed into 4:3) and was definitely blue (like the studio) rather than the current teal. It was pretty similar to the current astons, but the logo was slightly different, IIRC.


How was the logo different? Just in colour? What did it say, a reporter's name?

I saw the strange name strap myself and managed to get some caps of it just to prove you're not all going mad!

Thanks, sprungli_bob! I knew I wasn't going mad. It's about time the graphics were changed to blue - hasn't it been about a year now since the studio and graphics have been different colours?

Looks like the logo may be changing to white, ala ITV Sport. Looks nice!

I reckon a studio tweak is definitely in order. If nothing else, a new background would be nice the atrium is old now.

Obviously it's a bit naff but it does show you can do things differently. The new straps are effectively identical in all but colour (and logo). Wonder if they will even bother changing the logo from teal on the titles.

Some major problems on the Evening News tonight.

No sound over Tom Bradby's report, though it kicked in 15secs in...
Next up... Tim Roger's report - No sound... Cut back to Mary 10secs, ruffling papers - Apologies for the loss of sound....

Next story - James Mates reads very slowly, Mary pretending to look at him, though watching something to her right...

Live to John Irvine....more than longer 2 way.

Next story - appears to be back to normal.

Looks so much better - apart from the story you've opted to cover of course!


I'm not a big fan of the blue myself, but they need to be consistent and at the moment ITV News is a right mess in that regard.
