i'm sorry but you miss my point. The bulletin is made by ITN in London and thus is presented from there. why on earth would they would fire up a regional ITV studio in Manchester when they have their own?
And do you think these other 'regional presenters' are incapable of buying train tickets/driving cars?

All regional sets are identical and by doing it that way, more presenters can have a go at the weekend news, and they can just project the usual ITN images onto the screen behind. ITN might be considering other regional presenters to have a go, but they simply can't travel.
