It is about time.
I hate the way that they zoom in on it for digital TV currently, especially when they air footage of what was a widescreen broadcast (namely sport) as they air the 4:3 footage of a 16:9 product but then zoom in on it to make it whatever size it is now!
Does this include Channel TV?
I take it that nothing will change straight away as I guess that the graphics will have been made as widescreen straight off.

ITV's national and regional news output will be broadcast in widescreen from December.
ITN's first networked ITV news programme in widescreen will be the 05:30 bulletin on Sunday, December 2.
With the exception of Westcountry's regional news programmes, all regional news and weather programming on ITV will go out in widescreen starting with December 2's lunchtime bulletins. Westcountry will continue to broadcast its local programmes in 4:3 for now.
