Great new-look, technical hitch..

Is Romilly Weeks any relation to the actress Honeysuckle Weeks.?.

I see the name Lunchtime News still hasn't emerged with the new titles.

I think the "bong" sounds like the bell has got a crack in it!

Big Ben does have a crack in it, doesn't it?

Yep, it does. That's why it sounds like it does.

One of the packages just fell off air leaving the presenters to hurriedly repo and go into the next report.

A problem I guess when your presenters are wandering all over the studio is getting them in a position during a fault!

The clever thing with the backing, is they have a filter on it to resemble very slightly frosted glass, and there is a shimmer over the atrium image to make it feel like there is glass between the studio and the atrium. All other graphics appear ontop of this glass, so feels like it's within the studio.

Just watch it as the camera moves, you see the highlights over the image...

Whilst it's technically impressive, I think people will rapidly tire of the atrium backdrop, particularly as it doesn't quite look real enough.

I love how the clockface is overlaid and aligned on the studio floor for the opening shot! The astons and other graphics are not great, they seem quite big and bulky. Certainly better than the previous graphics, and the backdrop is ten times better without those powerpoint squares!

Yes. I was wondering if they could pull off an "open" effect, superimposing a railing rather than the glass, (though you'd lose the graphics appearing on the glass effect).

I'm really impressed with the new look and it's great to see Katie back.

I noticed when they went to the break after the pulse there were little white dots on the floor

There is one thing that will ALWAYS crucify ITV News' viewing figures: AD Breaks!
That's the THIRD break in half an hour, and worse still it happened at ONE O'CLOCK!

I want to see the NEWS. I just switched over to BBC One. Rolling Eyes
