Personally, I think it IS best to keep 2 presenters I also think the standing and sitting is well organised.
However, if I had to change its presentation, I would say it needs a complete revamp. As well as that, I dislike the choice of camera angles/shots they use; I prefered the shots they used back in 2004.
Following in the footsteps of the BBC, should ITV cut down to one anchor per bulletin?
6.30 - Mary
10.30 - Mark
Seems an obvious choice.
No, no need to copy the BBC. Mark and Mary work well at 6.30pm and is obviously in favour as currently both channels opt for the 2 presenter line up at teatime
Considering the type of programmes the Six/ITV Evening News are, I'm not sure the audience would like a single presenter programme
I think 2 presenters should remain on the 6.30pm but I dont think Mark should get to present both the 6.30 and 10.30.
Am I the only one fed up with the ITV News straps? For a start, they should be bluer to match the studio, and the full-colour ITV News logo is too prominent when it's a live thing, with a reporter strap.
Any thoughts on ITV News's on-screen graphics? Forget the studio, it's the hideous straps that need work! The headline straps should be scrapped IMO or at least adhere to a uniform colour scheme ... yellow on the titles, teal on the stories? Eh?
I like the teal straps, at the end of the Lunchtime News today there was a breaking news strap, the font was much smaller and it looked really good. I've always liked the teal studio better than the current blue one. The yellow straps are hideous. I think they should go with something really simple, like CNNI, minus the flipper. The ITV Sport graphics are nice, something like that for ITV News would be great.
They've been a mess really since ITV News's mini-relaunch when ITV1 relaunched - especially the hideous yellow headline straps which aren't seen anywhere else.
It's the studio not the straps though that is the wrong colour - though IIRC it was teal initially and gradually turned blue.
It needs to be a complete relaunch now though - that way everything is thought through and all the problem areas should be sorted once again so that over the next few years they can tweak the graphics and format once again so it becomes an inconsistent mess requiring another relaunch 4-5 years down the line.

Sadly though MediaGuardian said it would not be a (needed) relaunch but merely 'tweaks'. We haven't yet seen them.
They are supposed to be going widescreen soon, last I heard no date was specified just "soon". Apparently they are waiting for 2 regional studios to be widescreen compatible before making the switch.
I don't think there is anything wrong with ITV News, I much prefer it over BBC News. All that needs sorting is the graphics and that horrid backdrop they use in the studio.
I don't see the big deal about presenters standing up. Teachers, lecturers, professors etc all stand up when delivering information and presentations. It looks more formal. But for some reason it only works in news studios where the screens are floor to ceiling otherwise it just looks stupid.
