Tonights Evening News was even better than expected, they've really handled the story in Burma very well with Dan Rivers reporting from Bangkok and John Irvine at the United Nations

Unusually it was Bill Neeley and Katie Derham, whats happened to usual Mark Mary/Nina?

Yes I completely agree. I thought yesterday's Evening News was very good as well (though the speeding motorist report was a bit weak).

Katie and Mark presented the programme yesterday and, according to the Radio Times, he should have been there with Katie today and it should be the two of them again tomorrow. (Perhaps Mary is away doing other things for ITN/ITV or just has an exceedingly generous holiday allowance (which brings us back to the 'other things', or is that show no more?)).

Remeber that most, if not all the main ITV News readers have young children, who are maybe unwell or they themselves are unwell. There are many reasons why they could be off. As long as we get the news delivered to us, it isn't too big a problem. Cool

Or perhaps she woke up this morning and thought "f*** it I cant be bothered today" Laughing

Any of those scenarios may have applied to Mark today but I fail to believe that Mary would be so organised as to ensure that listings magazines are kept abreast of such developments Very Happy
(BTW, I most definitely wasn't complaining Cool).

That's a good point - surely it's time one of them got pregnant again!

Bill Neely is much better than Geraint Vincent, James Mates AND Alistair Stewart IMO!

It's possible that Mark has been sent to the Burma region.

Could they not send Nina out instead and preferably leave her there? She really annoys me for some reason. I can't put my finger on why.

Now we know when ITV ask them to jump, OFCOM ask how high - but I thought ITV had to have a 15-minute bulletin between 6pm and 11.30pm at the weekend.

Yet tonight there was a 5-minute summary at 6pm, with the main news airing at 11.55pm.

Most weeks there seems to be a bulletin on Saturday around 5.30pm, with the later sometimes as late as 11.40pm.
