Lucy was great again last night. She has a friendly, yet authoritative style. She's one of those newsreaders (like Moira Stuart) who could tell you the world was about to end and you'd still feel calm and relaxed! If Lucy ever gets an offer to move to London for ITV, I'd suggest she takes it. I know she loves working at Granada, but she has the skill to pull off the transition to national. It would be a waste of her talent if she didn't.

I agree. I think she would make a good anchorwoman for ITV News, she is better than Mary, Katie and Nina. But at the same time she could still do Granada if she desperately wants to, ie she only does weekend bulletins from the Granada set (obviously with the stupid ITN graphics behind her) so that she doesn't have to travel lots.

I made a point of watching Lucy this morning and, sorry, I still don't get it. She was OK but nothing special (I suppose at least I didn't feel compelled to turn over before the end of the brief bulletin, though any longer and her voice would start to pall).
For the main, weekday programmes Katie and Mary are by far the better choices.

Lucy is great, although I can't see her leaving Granada anytime soon. The proposed restructuring of the regions won't affect Granada, to which she is fiercely loyal!

Anyone else noticed that she has worn the same suit and blue blouse for every national bulletin she has appeared on? She is very calming, even as someone said befor, when she is reading the worst story.

One thing I have noticed is that when Lucy is presenting ITV News, the headlines and script tends to be less sensationalist. It seems worse when the regular newsreaders are on during the week. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just a coincidence?

As long as she doesn't work with Tony Morris I'm happy.

Those two are awful together.

I think ITV News should look at making her a full time weekend presenter, as part of their big changes , would work quite well.

bizarre request - does anyone have the ITV Morning News from this morning recorded? if so, drop me a message

Damn - if you'd asked just a few hours ago I could have helped you! I did record it this morning so I could watch it with a cuppa in bed but deleted it this afternoon. Is there anything in particular you want to know, as I may be able to remember.

Just to let you know that Lucy is doing today's bulletins as well in case you've missed her so far.

This worries me. You've just given ITV an idea for Sh*tterball 's replacement.

"Now on ITV, at 3am, it's time for another chance to catch up with yesterday's ITV Morning News ."

I wouldn't be surprised.

Aww so nice to see Lucy Meacock doing the national news. Only just read this thread after seeing her now doing the Sunday evening bulletin. What a blast from the past for me. It's years since I lived in Granadaland. Laughing
