How long has that TV screen been next to to the desk in the studio. What's it for?

This show looks really good, with a relatively close up shot of James Mates and the image on the video wall to his left.

Funny how much more professional it feels.

New opening style tonight, Katie and Bill were more down the right hand side of the catwalk, and the camera seemed to be really close to the newswall at the start. The floor looks so much better in the darker colour.

A big plasma screen was just used, to the right of the newswall. Katie and Bill were stood in the middle of the walkway, and the plasma showed images of the Rugby World Cup, the jib then moved close to the newswall when the logo came up, I wonder if the plasma will be used when the 'tweaks' begin.
Terrbile the way they just said "And the Rugby World Cup starts after Coronation Street, here on ITV1" could they not just say 8pm?

I still am itching to know why 'tweaks' such as getting the presenters to sit down are taking such a bloody long time to come into effect. Is it that difficult to tell Mary Nightingale to park her arse on a stool?

Because that would have been wrong - Coronation Street was on at 7 tonight

(It was nice to see Katie every day this week and on the Evening News for a couple of those days ).

Is there some effect on the screen to remove the green, so that the keying ain't messed up?

And if plasmas are kept, as I think they should, then there should be two, for symmetry.
